For those of you staying the night in the Mt. Hood Meadows area, I highly suggest Mt. Hood Brewing in Government Camp. A few weeks ago A and I went to Mt. Hood for the first time to ski and snowboard, but were rained out. We decided to stop at the local brewery for a bite to eat and some beer. This place was great, the beer was good and the Oregon Blackberry Cobbler was to die for! I highly recommend eating them together.
Last Friday, I had to be in Portland for a law function so A and I decided to head up to Mt. Hood Meadows do to some skiing on Saturday. A is a skier but I am a snowboarder, however, I decided I wanted to learn how to ski that day. I was excited and pumped to learn, but that changed very quickly...... I should say I learned how to tumble down the mountain rather than ski. (At least the view was great tumbling down) Nevertheless, I eventually made it down and seriously could not wait to drink some well deserved beer. I had recently heard of this new brewery in the area, so that's where A and I headed. Bunsenbrewer, is a small brewery in Sandy, and unless you are looking for it, you will miss it. But do not miss, DO NOT miss this place if you are in the Mt. Hood area. First off, the beer comes in breakers, like in a science lab! And to top it off, the beer is AMAZING. It was exactly what I needed after a day on the mountain. For those of you staying the night in the Mt. Hood Meadows area, I highly suggest Mt. Hood Brewing in Government Camp. Hood from a distance Taking a picture on the ski lift while trying not to drop your phone or your poles is a lot harder than you think My awesome gloves from Harpoon Brewing! I wore these under my ski mittens and with the textable fingers, I was able to take pictures with my phone without giving my fingers frostbite! Just one of the many views that made falling on my butt and tumbling down the mountain, worth it. Putting that good ol' selfie stick to use Excited because I made it down the mountain What I think I look like when I go skiing vs. what I really look like Just look at those tasters! And what's in them is just as amazing! Mt. Hood Brewing + Oregon Blackberry Cobbler= perfection (picture of cobbler not shown because I couldn't wait long enough to take a picture before I ate it).
