After being shown around town by the locals, I took a brewery tour at Allagash Brewing and had some lunch on the water at the famous, Portland Lobster Company. I spent the rest of that first day just walking around the Commercial Street area.
On the second day, Sara was nice enough to lend me a bike so I could go watch the sunrise and bike around town. Being from the west coast, I had never seen a proper sunrise before and Bug Light just seemed like the perfect place to do it. I apologize in advance for the plethora of lighthouse/sunrise photos, I was just that excited. After biking to Bug Light, I biked to Portland Head Light and then biked around Portland, eating and going beer tasting along the way.
I was surprised as to how similar the Portlands were to each other, both in architecture and attractions. Both have that Victorian era style for many of the houses. And both have an abundance of cute, local places to eat, drink coffee and have beer! I absolutely loved visiting Portland, and I was so sad to leave. I know I'll be back to visit this cute, little town again someday, so until then- thanks again Portland for the hospitality and I'll see you again soon.
