When I think of Oregon, I think of rain and nature.... but mostly rain. But on the few occasions where it's not raining, I try to get out and do some hiking. Last week, A and I took a trip to Silver Falls State Park near Salem. We hiked the Trail of Ten Falls, where you guessed it, there were ten waterfalls! The hike was absolutely beautiful and along the way we would stop and eat a snack on a log or on the river- it was awesome. The trail was about 8 miles but A and I only did 6 because we were both hungry, tired, and in need of beer. On the way back home, A and I decided to stop in Salem to refuel. We also stopped at the Capitol building (where I totally reeked out because I'm a nerd like that). We ate some burgers and paid a visit to Santiam Brewing. This was my first experience with a Salem brewery, and it did not disappoint. I can't wait to come back to Salem to try more of their breweries! First waterfall The view from behind a waterfall Putting that selfie stick to use ! Even after 6 moths, I still can't believe I get to call this state home My favorite waterfall My snack time view Lunch on the river Don't judge us on the PBR, they were the only cans we had at home that morning Finally visited the Oregon Capitol! I've officially visited 6 state capitols, 1 national capitol and 1 provincial capitol! Can you say nerd? Finished off the day with some delicious beer from Santium Brewing. We wanted to get the big flight but were just too full from burgers :(
