Right after the new year, I took my very first trip to the Canada. A good friend of mine from law school is from Canada and so we decided to take one last trip before the semester started and before we were forced to spend all of our waking hours studying in the library. Although it was only a week, I had the opportunity to experience a lot of British Columbia. I was able to visit Victoria, Vancouver and Kelowna- 3 very different, but fun cities. I was able to see the Parliament Building in Victoria, eat some of the best sushi I've ever had in my life in Vancouver and go snowboarding and ice skating in Kelowna. I even had Tim Horton's a couple of times during the week and also did some serious beer tasting (like I could visit Canada and not try the beer!). It was truly a great trip and I kinda hate to admit it (just because I don't want to give my Canadian friend the satisfaction), but I can't wait to visit again. P.S their money really does smell like maple syrup ;) The famous maple smelling money Made it! First meal in Canada at West Coast Waffles- Belgian waffles with maple syrup. Also my first time having maple syrup ever! Walking around Victoria and making new friends Just some of the many totem poles around Victoria The Parliament Building in Victoria Putting that Selfie Stick to use Can't go to Canada without trying Molson's Canadian! The beginning of many Canadian brewery visits on this trip. First stop, Phillips Brewery! Can't go to Vancouver Island without stopping at their brewery! The taster sizes at Canadian breweries are much larger than I'm used to, but Vancouver Island's tasters take the cake! The ferry back to the mainland Obligatory Tim Horton's picture Walking around Stanley Park in Vancouver Dinner at beer tasting at Steamworks Brewing Co. in Vancouver Night skiing and snowboarding at Big White. Super fun and super cheap. Something I highly recommend, especially if you're on a tight budget like myself. Cool flights and beer at Tree Brewing in Kelowna Also, their beer floats with homemade Salted Caramel Ice Cream were out of this world! When in Canada.... Note to self.... don't go ice skating with a Canadian hockey player. You will embarrass yourself. I tried to find the Ogopogo on Okanagan Lake..... no luck One last view before the long drive home
