By the time we got back from Europe, May had just begun. I spent a greater part of the month helping my sister with her last month of high school. There was a Prom, some AP tests, a graduation and lots of celebrations. Needless to say, there wasn't much traveling done that month, just a quick trip to San Francisco during Memorial Day weekend to visit a college friend and see my first Giants' game (see pics below).

After the graduation celebrations died down, my sister and I decided to pack up the car and go camping. We didn't know where the road would take us, all we knew was that our first stop would be the Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon has been on my life bucket list for the longest time but the timing never seemed to work out in terms of making a trip happen. You can imagine how ecstatic I was to finally have the chance to visit the grandest of all canyons and cross it off my list. We camped for two days just outside the Canyon at the Ten-X campground since everything else was booked. During the day we hiked the South Rim perimeter and took as many pictures as possible.

After our visit, we headed towards Flagstafff and explored the town for a day. We ate lunch, walked around and I also did some beer tasting at both Mother Road Brewing and Historic Brewing (both were amazing btw). That night we got to sleep in an awesome teepee tent, which sparked our love affair with the KOA Campgrounds.
First state line!

Because when the wifi at the Grand Canyon is down and the Mexico vs. Cameroon World Cup game is on, you're forced to get creative
